Guido Merz

Christof Mascher
Christof Mascher was a member of the Board of Management and Chief Operating Officer of Allianz SE. He studied philosophy at the University of Vienna and law at the University of Innsbruck. Mascher began his professional career in 1989 at the Vienna-based Allianz in the industrial insurance division. In 1993, he became Head of Business Organisation until he was appointed Head of Information Technology in 1994. In 2000, Mascher was appointed to the Board of Management of Allianz Elementar, where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In 2006, Mascher moved to Allianz Deutschland AG, where he was Chief Operating Officer on the Board of Management. In September 2009, he was appointed to the Board of Management of Allianz SE, where he is Chief Operating Officer.
Antonio DeRossi
Mr. Derossi, with 20+ years of experience in various roles across insurance, consulting, and venture capital, functions as a key advisor on go-to-market and product optimization strategies for the North American and European insurance markets.
Derossi has worked as the insurance-focused managing partner at Propeller, a venture and advisory firm based in San Francisco and has previously served as COO of Allianz owned subsidary Fireman’s Fund and as COO of Allianz CEEMA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa), where he was responsible for IT, operations, claims, and strategic direction. Before that, he worked at McKinsey and Accenture.
Dr. Michael Pickel
Dr. Michael Pickel is a member of the Executive Board of Hannover Re SE. Since 2019 he is Chairman of the Executive Board of the subsidiary responsible for the German market, E+S Rückversicherung AG, Hannover, of which he has been a member of the Executive Board since 2000. Previously, from 1996 to 2000, he was Head of the Treaty Reinsurance Department for the rest of Europe and South America as well as Head of the Legal and Claims Department at Gerling Globale Rück, Cologne. From 1991 to 1996, Dr. Pickel was Assistant to the Managing Director of Property and Life Reinsurance at Gerling Globale Rück in Milan. Dr. Michael Pickel studied law at the University of Cologne.
